Industry tips
Small Stitches Cause Problems
How small a line can you embroider? There are basically three factors that determine how small stitches can be in your embroidery. First is the weave of the fabric you are sewing on. If two stitches fall in the same hole of the weave, no stitch results -you get a knot instead. Obviously, the finer the fabric, the smaller the stitches it will support. The second factor is the precision of the machine itself. At some point, a stitch becomes so short that the motors controlling movement at certain speed fail to respond and then the stitch is lost. Finally, you can't create an embroidered line that is thinner than the width of the thread creating the line. Sometimes, when we are trying to push the limits and sew elements that are very small, stitches don't sew as expected and you get problems. -specifically, knots and holes.
